Frequent Questions

Do you have any questions about the courses, learning Dutch, or how to get started? You’ll find clear answers to the most common questions here.

Courses & teaching

The courses are all pre-recorded and designed for self-study. Each course includes videos with both English and Dutch subtitles, plus downloadable PDFs with all the explanations.

The big advantage? You can go through the lessons as many times as you like—on your own time, at your own pace!

  • ‍Included: Downloadable materials like PDFs with all the theory, many quizzes & exercises, stories & dialogues with audio, flashcards, final tests, a certificate of completion, lifetime access—and sometimes bonus materials or access to the Dutch Community. ‍
  • Not included: Live lessons and (private) tutoring.

If you’re unsure about your Dutch level, you can take the placement test on my website.
After completing the test, you’ll receive a recommendation for the course that best suits your level.

If you enroll in a course and it turns out it’s not the right fit, we can switch you to another course or issue a full refund—both options are available within the first 14 days of registration.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time for individual teaching at the moment.
However, I do host one live online session each month in the Dutch Community.

And if you’d like to practice your Dutch 24/7, you can chat with my AI clone anytime! Check it out here.

You know best what your needs are—so if you’re looking for an online teacher, you can use this platform to find your perfect match.

The Certificate of Completion is for personal use only.
It’s not an official document and cannot be used to apply for a residence permit or a job. For those purposes, you’ll need to take the official national NT2 exams, such as the Inburgeringsexamen or Staatsexamen NT2.

However, my courses follow the CEFR standards (Common European Framework of Reference) for reaching the A1, A2, and B1 levels—so you’ll be well prepared to take those exams with confidence later on!

Course PRICES

The prices of the courses vary, but most are between €79 and €150 (including 21% VAT).

  • ‍Included in the price: Downloadable materials like PDFs with all the theory, many quizzes & exercises, stories & dialogues with audio, flashcards, final tests, a certificate of completion, lifetime access—and sometimes bonus materials or access to the Dutch Community.‍
  • Not included in the price: Live lessons and (private) tutoring.

In accordance with European tax law, 21% VAT must be charged to all purchases.

Your satisfaction is my priority! If you purchase a course and realize it’s not the right fit, you can request a full refund within 14 days—no questions asked. Please note: refunds are no longer possible after the 14-day period.

For the courses, it’s a one-time payment. Once you’ve bought a course, you’ll have lifetime access.

The Online Dutch Community is membership-based and runs on a recurring payment plan.

In most countries, you can pay on the website using a credit card, with PayPal, or via Klarna or Afterpay (using your IBAN). You’ll be enrolled in the course immediately after payment.

If your payment fails on the website, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. I can send you a payment link for iDEAL, PayPal, or a bank transfer. (This is always in euros.) Just keep in mind that this option may take a bit more time to process your enrollment—it could take a few days.

Yes, you can buy a course as a gift! Simply check the box “Gift to a friend” on the checkout page. If you don’t see this option, just contact me and I’ll help you out!

Learning Dutch

That’s a great question! It mostly depends on how motivated you are and how much time you’re willing to invest—per day, week, or month. No excuses—just go for it! With regular effort, you can reach a conversational level (A2–B1) within a few months to a year.

And make sure to keep it fun: watch series and films, read books, listen to songs, and most importantly… Start speaking from day one!
And of course—watch my videos and join my courses. 😉

Start with the basics: common phrases, pronunciation, and simple grammar. Use a mix of video lessons, flashcards, and real-life input like songs, series, or easy stories. If you need a bit of help with that: I combine all of these methods in my Dutch for Beginners course!

Oh, and don’t wait too long to start speaking... “Veel succes!”

You can join online communities, find language buddies, attend language exchange meetups, use language apps, or practice with tutors—or even AI tools!
Even speaking to yourself or shadowing audio can help build confidence.

Here are my tips:

  • Check the website Meetup to see if there are language exchanges near you.
  • Join my Online Dutch Community to connect with other students around the world.
  • Practice your Dutch 24/7 with my AI clone.
  • Enroll in the Daily Dutch Conversations course for lots of “shadow exercises” to practice at home.

Yes, I’m 100% Dutch!

In my videos, I speak clearly and slowly—so I can imagine it might sound a bit “non-native” at times. Plus, I have a foreign surname and a peculiar “R” that sometimes sounds a little American, sometimes a bit Spanish… But YES—I was born and raised in the Netherlands! 😉

I started in August 2019 because I noticed a few recurring mistakes many of my students were making. So I began creating videos to help them—and to reach other learners who might be struggling with the same issues. But then I discovered a new passion: making videos! And that’s how the whole journey began.
